Driven to Date, Book 7

I felt way too extravagant in the sexy, glittery gold, off-the-shoulder gown the sales woman had chosen. And people kept staring—mostly men. Sigh.

As I entered the ballroom, an usher appeared holding out his black tuxedo-jacket covered elbow. “Friend of the bride or groom?”

“Both.” Placing my hand on his arm, my eyes flicked up to his, and an electric jolt ran through me. Sexy hazel eyes. Dirty-blond hair. And a sensual smile. Ethan’s groomsman was hot. He even had a tan going on even though we were at the beginning of October. Maybe he’d just returned from a vacation. Where he was surfing. Because his upper body told me he used those muscles a lot.

His eyes crinkled as if he could tell exactly what I was thinking. “Since I can’t seat you in the middle of the aisle, why don’t I take you to the best available row? Unless you’re waiting for your date?”
A zing heated my belly. This guy was smooth.

“He’s coming later.” I tilted my head, smiling back at him. The lie had rolled off my tongue easily, because this guy screamed bad boy and I had enough problems.

These are four short stories but well-written, very romantic, exciting and fun. The characters are loveable and well-characterized, the plots are well-developed and intriguing.
Driven to Date is the story of Jill and Ryan. Jill is a great lawyer, the work is all her life, has always done her best to achieve her objectives and  has never failed. Until her boss's nephew, Ryan, comes to Sacramento and steals her promotion. She had already met and kissed him at a party and discovers that he will also be her new boss is really frustrating. She would like to hate him but her heart doesn't agree. Will Ryan really able to conquer her? I love their dialogues, are really funny, I like so much when he calls her buttercup.
In Up to Date Ginger is an office manager but her real passion is interior decoration. She chose stability and security instead of doing what she loves. For the same reason, she refuses to date with Greg, although she is very attracted to him. He's a doctor, will be always working and will neglect her just as her father did her. Greg will try  to make her realize that not all doctors are like her father. Will he win her trust? Greg is really charming, sexy, funny, ironic... He's the ideal guy, you can not help but love him. I love the chemistry between him and Ginger, they are perfect together.
In Déjà Date Melinda offers to replace Bernie in the management of his bakery. She doesn't know that will also have to manage his son Nate, her first love, the one that broke her heart going away without leaving her even a short message. Nate tries to win her back but Melinda is afraid to suffer again, he  might go away suddenly breaking again her heart. It's a story fresh, sweet and challenging.
In Date and Dash the protagonist is Mary Ann, sister of Ginger. To a charity auction she wants to win a bracelet that belonged to her grandmother. It's really important but a tamponade prevents her from participating. She asks a friend to make an offer for her but says the wrong number. She wins to partecipate in a reality show for couples: must participate with an unknown bachelor, the couple more in love will win fifty thousand dollars. Her bachelor is Trevor Brooks, the charming guy but very picky with whom she had the collision: he wanted to call the police, causing her to lose the auction. This short story is really fun and funky.
Each book may be enjoyed as a stand alone novel but for more enjoyment  read the whole series. I really like that  the characters of  these books were connected to each other, the protagonist of a story we had already known in the previuos books and will meet again in the next ones. I can not wait to read 1-6 books.
This was my first time reading a book by this author, and I can say with complete certainty that it will not be my last!
I recommend them to those who love sweet romance
I received an advanced reader copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
