Synopsis
Kristan “Stan” Connor is thrilled to be invited to the Groundhog Day festivities in quirky Frog Ledge, Connecticut. Her organic, home-baked pet treats are a big hit at the annual celebration, though an important guest is curiously absent . . .
When Helga Oliver, the town’s elderly historian, is found crumpled in the basement of the Historical Museum, the close-knit town is devastated. But after some tenacious digging, Stan discovers Helga was pushed down the stairs–and that this picture-perfect New England town may hide some dark secrets . . .
Stan’s dogged determination reveals Helga’s ties to an unsolved death in 1948 . . . but how does that connect to Adrian Fox, who’s just arrived in town to shoot an episode of Celebrity Ghost Hunters? Stan is going to have to be very careful in chasing down the killer–if she wants to live to see another winter . . .
My Review:
I love this book, how can't you love a book where there is a real marriage amongst dogs, with even clothes and cake. The plot is compelling and convincing, the characters are singular and fun, the small town where everything takes place is the ideal setting and adorable are the various animals that we encounter.
Stan lives just recently to Frog Ledge, a small town in Connecticut. She's starting to date with Jack and her activities of homemade treats for dogs and cats is going very well. The Groundhog Day festivities is the perfect showcase for her business but the party is ruined by the disappearance village's historian Helga. Unfortunately is found dead and she was killed. Stan begins to investigate and discovers that maybe this murder is linked to a mystery which occurred about 60 years ago ....
It 's a cozy mystery really fun, engaging, there are two mysteries to solve and there is also a ghost hunting.
This is the 3rd installment in the series "the Organic Pawsitively" but is the first book I have read. As soon as I can definitely read the first two and I hope shortly come out a new adventure.
It's a must-read for those who love the cozy mysteries and animals
