"Monsieur Andrews, welcome to my home."

At the smoky, velvet sound, Cameron swung around. Every function in his body--heart, breath, blood ceased to function.

She was lovely. More than lovely.

Tendrils of raven hair framed a face so exquisite, it disarmed him. Her mouth, a soft, dewy pink, parted. And those eyes, as dark as Creole coffee, intelligent and assessing, roamed over him and then back to take hold of his. He needed to step closer, to stroke her skin. To possess her. But would his wealth and worldly experience be a match for the free-spirited Cajun-born widow?

Across the oceans, between worlds old and new--two lost souls find themselves at a crossroads.

"An exciting new voice in historical romance." --Anna Campbell, awardwinning author of What a Duke Dares

My Review

This was a great read that left me turning the pages, eager to know what was going to happen next. It's a historical novel really exciting with so many surprises, romance, action and also  humor
Josette loves her beautiful and feisty niece Alexia but can no longer be with them. Her mother and her brother are not the best people to raise a kid. Then, so beautiful as she is, begins to attract the eyes of men. The only person able to take care of her is her real father Cameron Alexander, a very rich man who her sister had tricked to get herself pregnant. Josette has always been in love with him and see him again rekindled her passion. Just sees her Cameron is deeply fascinated. But both will have to deal with their past and their secrets.
The character are completely lovable and well defined, even the secondary. Cameron and Josette are a perfect couple, the chemistry between them is intriguing. Alexia
The writing is clear, crisp, flawless, the plot is brilliant and the dialogue are great. The setting is wonderful, the portrait that the author makes of New Orleans's society of the late 1850s is really interesting.
I received an advance reader edition of this book  via NetGalley for the purpose of providing an honest review.
