SWEET HAVEN
Home Sweet Home #1

Released February 23rd, 2016
Zebra: Kensington
In Benevolence, Washington, the
Lamont family's irresistible handmade chocolates are a cherished tradition--and
always a reason to celebrate. And now they're giving the three Lamont sisters,
one by one, delicious chances to start again, make a change, and have their
sweetest dreams come true...
Neighbors who care, a peaceful
routine--accountant Adeline Lamont is glad some things about her beloved
hometown never change. But when her grandfather is injured, she has to run the
family store, Chocolate Haven, and make its legendary fudge. Trouble is, she
can't get the recipe right to save her life--or Chocolate Haven. And she
doesn't need her ornery new tenant, Sinclair Jefferson, stirring up the pot
with his help--and daring Addie to taste her wild side…
Once Sinclair gets his hapless
brother back on track, he's leaving Benevolence for good this time. He's made
his life far away from his irresponsible family and their scandals. Trouble is,
he can't quite stay away from Addie's optimism, enticing plus-size curves, and
kindness to those who need it most. But they don't seem to have a thing in
common--except that Addie's passion for chocolate, and for Benevolence, is just
as contagious as Sinclair's passion for her. Maybe small-town life has its
charms after all…
My Review
It 's a very sweet and funny romance, set in a peaceful town in Washington state, in which chocolate is one of the protagonists.
Addie still lives in the small town where she was born, working as an accountant and she is single. Once she was almost about to get married but then he broke her heart and she decided not to suffer more. She likes her monotonous and peaceful life. But when her grandfather is hospitalized, her life becomes very chaotic and stressful. She must manage his chocolate shop, Chocolate Haven, and she hates chocolate. She should also lose a few pounds to get into a hideous bridesmaid dress. To say nothing of the handsome guy, Sinclair, who has rented for a few weeks her grandfather's apartment, just above the shop. He's really arrogant and grumpy. But some strange events approach them ....
The characters are very realistic with whom it is easy to empathize. Addie and Sinclair are very different, she enjoys her simple life in Benevolence. Sinclair, instead, has never loved his city, soon as he could he had enrolled and never came back. Now he comes back to help his brother to restore their grandfather's house but he can't wait to go away again. They are both willing to make huge sacrifices to help their family. After the first clashes, their relationship evolves and becomes really amazing.
I like Benevolence, a quiet community with some bizarre inhabitants, where gossip travels at the speed of light and in which a mother is informed to the hairdresser when her daughter made her last cut.
I am happy to know that it is the first book in a series, I can not wait to read the next episodes.
It's a funny and heart-warming book, with an aura of mystery and a cute little dog that combines so many trouble.
If you enjoy reading sweet romance, then definitely pick this up!

with her sister. It wasn’t long before she discovered Nancy Drew, The Hardy
Boys, her mother’s gothic romances . . . and became an ardent fan of romantic

making up stories. Shirlee and her husband live in Washington and have five
