Getting even.
One step at a time...

Maddie Kingston just walked away from everything in order to take over her family's struggling shoe business. And she's in some serious trouble. The majority of the company's shares have been bought out by none other than Maddie's ex-boyfriend, self-made billionaire Nick Holter. Now Maddie needs his help...even if it means buying Nick from a charity bachelor auction.

After the Kingstons destroyed his grandfather's career, Nick vowed to take over their company. He's inches from victory when he finds himself bought and paid for...by his sexy ex-girlfriend who's hell-bent on saving her family's company. Between their families' feud and their own unfinished business, tempers - and emotions - run hot. Too hot.

Because kissing with the enemy is a guaranteed shoe-in for trouble...

What are you working on now?
I just turned in Cat Kingston’s story, Maddie’s sister. She’s lost her fiancé and her job and has returned home dateless for her sister’s wedding…except she has a sexy run-in with Nick’s business partner, a newly-returned war vet, that gets her into faking a dating arrangement that leads them into all kinds of hot trouble.

Do you ever experience writers’ block?
Yeah, every day. But I just keep writing ☺I think I entered the Golden Heart seven times. I remember sitting down at the computer years ago trying to write a book and thinking, this is impossible. Who can do this? Every day I still have to keep telling myself over and over yes, yes I can. Every day when I sit down to write, despite it being the scariest thing I’ve ever done, it is also the most joyous and I can’t believe I get to do it.

Do you have anything specific you want to say to your readers?
Just thank you for giving me a chance and for all the lovely, kind things people have emailed/said/written to me.

It 's a novel intriguing, passionate, romantic and exciting, about  second chance at love and feud between two families. It was a fun  and pleasant read with two strong  and charismatic characters, an engaging storyline, well written with a style sliding and engaging.
Maddie Kingston is willing to do anything to save her family business: their shoe factory was founded seventy years ago by her grandfather but now they are no longer to have the majority of shares. The new majority shareholder is Nick Holter, a young millionaire and especially her ex-boyfriend. Maddie knows that only Nick can help her to save her company, tries to contact him, but he is never found. The last chance is  to win during a bachelor auction a weekend with him: she must win, even at the cost of ending all her money. She wins but it will not be easy to convince him: his grandfather was destroyed by Maddie's  father and Nick wants revenge. Will she be able to persuade him to save her company? She searches in every way to bring out the sweet and good boy with whom she had fallen in love. Will she succeed?
I'm really enjoying the tension and chemistry between the characters; They are trying to stifle and hide the attraction they feel for each other but it is stronger than the anger and resentment of their families.
I recommend it to those who love contemporary and romantic novels.

I received a copy of the book from the publisher through NetGalley for an honest review.
