My Review
I love historical novels and Scotland, as soon as I had read the plot I could not wait to read it and I was not disappointed. It's intriguing, romantic, mysterious, full of action and surprize with a beautiful and overwhelming love story between a Laird and a witch.
Alec MacLean has been too much time away from home and his lands are now in ruins. He must fight hard to bring them back to their former glory and to regain the trust of his people. Celia lives in the lands of Alec and takes care of healing people. She's escaped the witch trial of North Berwick and is considered by many a witch. Just Alec sees her understands that she is the love of his life and wants her as his wife but Celia refuses. She's very attracted to him but doesn't want to suffer again. Alec doesn't not give up and will fight hard to convince her. Meanwhile they will have to face many difficulties and great dangers.
The characters are believable and engaging. Celia is a strong, independent woman, very lonely. She had a terrible childhood and prefers to be alone than to lose again someone she loves. Alec is a knight loyal, brave, charming, willing to do anything to defend his beloved Celia. The chemistry between them is really strong and special, they are magical together.
This is the third and final book in this series but I did not need to read books one and two to have an understanding of the story. But this romance has impressed me that I can not wait to have time to read the first two books.

Madeline Martin lives in Jacksonville, Florida with her two daughters and a menagerie of pets. She graduated from Flagler College with a degree in Business Administration and works for corporate America. Her hobbies include rock climbing, running, doing Mud Runs and just about anything exciting she can do without getting nauseous.
