My Review:
I have decided to read this story fascinated by the title and the cover, I was expecting a story sweet and romantic and I was not disappointed at all. There are many appreciated references to my favorite fairy tale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Margaret Snow doesn't believe in fairy tales and hates Christmas. Her childhood was very sad: her father was always drunk and her mother was busy dealing with her husband. She never found a hot meal cooked by her mother, to her house there was never a Christmas tree. At eighteen, after discovering she was pregnant, had decided to leave her town and grow her little girl alone. She wanted to offer a better future to her daughter. She tried to be a model and actress in Los Angeles with some success but not too many. She ha returned in her city to organize the parade of Christmas. Never imagined having to meet again with Fernando, her high school sweetheart and father of her child. Margaret is tormented not want to let him know about their child but can not stay away from him. Will they give a second chance to their love and build a wonderful family?
The characters are warm and lovable. Margaret loves her independence and her self-sufficiency. She has made many sacrifices for her daughter, has also accepted jobs that she hates. She has so much need of love, needs a Prince Charming who, with a kiss, melt the ice that surrounds her heart. Fernando has changed so much, now is a successful real estate agent, is no longer a kid who liked only parties and get drunk. He's really fascinating, sexy and very kind. Amelie is a very sweet girl, always cheerful and kind. She makes so much tenderness. I love also sweet animals with some handicaps of which Margaret takes care.
It 's a compelling and heartwarming story, full of emotion. It's perfect to be read during the Christmas period.
I recommend it to those who love sweet and romantic stories

EXCERPT:
All the poise and modeling classes were forgotten in the
space of a second.
Fernando. Fernando. Fernando. It couldn’t be, not after all
these years. She drew in a breath and held it.
He brushed a hand through his dark hair, dampened from the
icy weather. “I heard you were back in town.”
She swallowed. How did a man look so put together in this
type of weather? Her voice returned and matched her shaking body. “You live in
Owanda?”
“I thought I did, although you’re making me question it.” He
looked around, a slight smile gracing his mouth. “Remember we lived two blocks
from each other?”
Except she’d lived in the double-wide trailer at the edge of
a trailer park and he’d lived in a cozy bungalow with white shingles and a red
front door. She looked off for a moment, needing to focus on something else,
anything else. Grumpy appeared to be sleeping.
“How could I ever forget?” she asked.
Fleeting hurt dimmed his gaze, but the smile remained. “You
forgot quickly, actually.” He took a step forward, seemed to think better of
getting closer, and halted. “I’ve missed you.” He glanced at the parrot. “Don’t
tell me, let me guess. He’s blind.”
“Deaf.”
“Does he talk?”
“No, but sometimes he sings off-key.” She looked pointedly
toward the street. “Probably because he’s speechless at the terrible weather.”
Fernando laughed. “It’s not so bad here. Summers are very
pleasant.”

Thank you for hosting
RispondiEliminaThanks so much for hosting A Snowy White Christmas on your blog today! http://amzn.com/B017C0FVK4
RispondiEliminaWhat is your favorite fairy tale?
A Snowy White Christmas is loosely based on the fairy tale, Snow White, and Margaret, the heroine, is said to be Snow White's original name. But that's where the similarities end because this novella explores childhood deafness, dwarfism, pets with deformities (yes, a deaf parrot) and sickle cell sickness.
Readers are saying that A Snowy White Christmas reads like a Hallmark movie. Please leave a comment and hope you enjoy this "sweet" Christmas novella.

Ooh interesting
RispondiEliminaThank you! I worked hard to make this novella an emotional connection for the reader.
EliminaThanks for the review! :)
RispondiEliminaShandie,
EliminaYou are very welcome. Thank YOU!
The cover is absolutely gorgeous!
RispondiEliminaThe blurb sounded interesting, but not overly so; your review, though, made the book sound very promising. I do love Christmas romance stories and the main characters do sound positive and pleasing :)
I have two top favourite fairytales: the very commonly liked Beauty and the Beast and the (from what I've noticed) less known The Wild Swans. I'm always on the lookout for new retellings of these!
Elisa,
RispondiEliminaFirst, thanks for your compliments. I love my cover artist. She captured the "feel" of Snow White. However, I had to remind her that this was a romance--thus the couple added to the bottom of the dress.
The heroine's name is Margaret because the original Snow White was named Margaret. And, Snow White was based in Germany, thus Fernando's half-German background. And his twin brother is a dwarf.
I loved this post. Thank you for sharing! I am looking forward to reading it.
