My Review:
My dream is to be able to visit St. Petersburg is a wonderful city, there are enchanting landscapes. But I also love Russian culture, its traditions, its legends and especially the history of the Romanov. So I loved this novel from the first pages, the story of Faberge Egg is very sweet and really sad.
Luise loves books and art history. She has always lived in Bratteboro, a small town in Vermont and runs a heritage museum. She had a big disappointment in love and no longer attended a man. She travels with her friend and partner Lucy in Boston for an auction, hoping to have some unique pieces for her museum. But she couldn't have imagined to get hold of a Faberge egg, a gift intended to Olga Romanov but that she never received, was killed first. Dimitri is an important and wealthy Russian businessman, heir of the Romanov. The egg belongs to him but it was stolen. Luise and Dimitri meet by chance, crashing on a sidewalk. They are magnetically attracted to each other immediately. He wants to know her better and also protect her when he discovers that she has his egg. Luise's life is in danger but can really trust Dimitri?
It 's a novel short but very intense and complete. There is a romantic and sexy love story, a perfect Christmas atmosphere, a mystery to be solved, twist and a bit of action. The characters are well characterized and likeable. Luise has become introverted after the bad end of her love story, he had just used her, deceived her. But she is immediately attracted to Dimitri, he is so beautiful, protective, sympathetic, cheerful. She can not stay away from him. But when she discovers that he knows she has the egg, she fears that he is interested to get his precious and really does not take her.
This writer never disappoints me, it is that she writes historical, paranormal or contemporary novels.
If you love Russia and its traditions and you want a romance but with so much suspense this is the perfect book for you.

EXCERPT:
A loud crash and the shattering of glass thundered through
the room. Elise wrapped her arms around Dimitri's waist and pressed herself to
him. Her shoulders tensed.
"What was that?" he asked, lowering his voice to a
whisper.
More glass shattered, and footsteps thudded below.
"I think someone just broke into the museum."
Elise bolted from his arms and lunged for her phone.
"What are you doing?"
"Dad always told me to call nine-one-one first, then
call him."
"What is nine-one-one? Your emergency response?"
"Yes." Elise paused, then said into the phone,
"This is five-thirty Main
Street . Someone has broken into the Heritage Museum . They're still there."
Dimitri fisted his hands. He couldn't let the intruders find
Elise in the apartment. He had to go down there. He bolted for the door.
"Dimitri, what are you doing?"
He ignored her, flung open the door, and raced down the
stairs. His footsteps rang in his ears as he dashed through the hallway,
entering the museum through the back, then ran into the main display room. Two
men dressed in black with ski masks over their faces looked up at him. Dark
shadows from the outside street lamp filled the main room.
"Stop!" Dimitri yelled in Russian, letting his
eyes get used to the low light.
They froze, caught off guard by Dimitri's voice.
