EXCERPT:
Bob, Charles, and James are all hovering over
someone—something. As they applaud and step back, I see with my own eyes their
new toy. Taylor Diamond. Taylor is an incredibly aggressive young attorney with
a long list of clients and an even longer list of success. He looks like he
just fell out of a Yale fraternity magazine; the ideal stunner of a man. His
face maintains the perfect jaw structure, his blue eyes and perfect wavy, black
hair only further compliment his broad shoulders and, near perfect, six-foot
physique. Oh, my God. He’s incredible. For a moment, I forget that I am
a partner in my law firm and not a school girl, staring at the shockingly handsome,
cool senior at Liberty High.

A Little Interview
Where are
you from?
Originally, Brooklyn, NY. My family moved to Los Angeles when I was
2. My uncle is Neil Bogart (The Disco King). He started a crazy company called
Casablanca Records. He brought my father out to LA for work and I grew up
there.
What is the
first book you remember reading?
Shel Silverstein’s Where The Sidewalk Ends.
When did you
realize you wanted to became a writer?
When I was nearing the end of high
school, I wrote my first full length screenplay. It was at that moment I knew it
was for me. Despite being a baseball prospect at the time, I knew in my heart
writing was the way to go.
Do you have
a special place you like to write?
Not really. I can write anywhere. One place
doesn’t inspire me more than another. More than anything, it’s the music I
listen to that I draw inspiration from.
What else do
you enjoy doing, when you're not writing?
I am a dad. I have 4 amazing kids. So
they can take up quite a bit of time. I love playing sports (although age is
getting me now). I exercise and stay in shape. 1,000 push-ups a week and some
cardio and abs. Bike riding. I would like to read more. I am so driven by my
own work I honestly wish I would stop to appreciate others a bit more.
What are you
working on next?
I just completed the second book for The Connolly Affair series. I am currently writing a very cool
thriller set in 1920 surrounding the Barnegat Lighthouse. It is very Alfred
Hitchcock and Stephen King.
