Synopsis:
Jill Gardner—owner of Coffee, Books, and More in the tucked-away town of South Cove, California—is not particularly thrilled to be portraying a twenties flapper for the dinner theater murder mystery. Though it is for charity…
Of course everyone is expecting a “dead” body at the dress rehearsal…but this one isn’t acting! It turns out the main suspect is the late actor’s conniving girlfriend Sherry…who also happens to be the ex-wife of Jill’s main squeeze. Sherry is definitely a master manipulator…but is she a killer? Jill may discover the truth only when the curtain comes up on the final act…and by then, it may be far too late.
My Review
This cozy mystery is an enjoyable and fast read, the plot is interesting and well written, the characters are likeable, bizarre and extravagant.
Jill Gardner can not help but interfere in police investigations, particularly in those of Greg, her boyfriend and local policeman. This time, however, is a special inquiry. is died the boyfriend of Sherry, former wife of Greg. She has recently moved to South Cove and although she was engaged tried to put a strain the relationship between Greg and Jill. Sherry is obviously the main suspect and though Jill never liked her, does not believe that she can be a killer. She will carry out her own investigation even though Greg asks her not to. I liked that Jill tells the story in first person: has made reading more engaging.
It's the fourth book in the series "A Tourist Trap Mystery" but you do not have to have read the others to enjoy this one: I can not wait to read the previous books to find out how was born and evolved the story between Jill and Greg
This book is a quick and fun read with an amazing setting and an enjoyable mystery to solve.
I received a free ebook version of this from the publisher, Kensington Books, via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
