My Review

It 's a historical novel very sweet and romantic, with some twists and secrets to reveal. The characters are warm and lovable, impossible not to love them, especially the little tender Phoebe.

Gabriel St James, the sixth Duke of Wesbrook, trying in every way to be different from his father but fears rather resemble him more and more. He has a very dissolute life and without liability until he suddenly have to deal with a child of three years. He discoveres he had an illegitimate daughter.  He wants to take care of her but does not know how. It offers to help Elizabeth, the sister of his best friend. They have known for many years and she is madly in love with him. He and only he is the man who she will marry. Gabe tries to resist the growing attraction he feels for her, because a secret very dangerous

I loved the character of Elizabeth. She's a sweet and generous woman, very much in love, willing to do anything to make herlove  happy and peaceful. Her love and that of his daughter made Gabe a man most responsible and serene. He's tormented by his past and guilt to be attracted to his best friend's  sister. Gabe, Elizabeth and Phoebe are a wonderful family, they will be able to stay together and overcome the many challenges they will encounter?

This was a truly engaging and delightful read, very tender, exciting and passionate. The story had a good pace and great and funny dialogue. The characters were  charming and I can not wait to read the next installment in the series!
