Synopsis:
Rory Chasen, now the manager of the Lucky Dog Boutique in Destiny, California, is delighted when her closest friend Gemma Grayfield, a librarian, comes for a visit. But Gemma arrives early and seems upset. It turns out she has broken up with her boyfriend, Frank Shorester. Gemma is soon hired to manage the Broken Mirror Bookstore. Frank follows her to Destiny, where Gemma is also wooed by two local men. Rory may be a little jealous—until one of those men, Deputy Mayor Bevin Dermot, turns up dead. Bevin is known for knocking on wood for everything, but despite Destiny being all about superstitions that did not save his life.
Rory tries to help Gemma clear herself of being a murder suspect, even counting on her lucky black and white dog Pluckie to help. But is Gemma guilty of murder—or of just having a run of bad luck?

My Review:

I loved everything about this romance: the cover, the characters and their pets, the plot. Once I started I could not put it down, I wanted to find out who was the murderess but I had so much fun to read even about  superstitions.
Destiny, where the whole story takes place, is an incredible city, a place where everyone is superstitious and have some amulet for warding. Rory runs a shop where she sells items that serve as a good luck charm for dogs. Also she holds conferences in which she shares with others her knowledge of superstition. Comes to spending a few days with her one of her friend, Gemma. She has just broken up with her boyfriend and is now being courted by two men. One of them unfortunately is found dead and Rory will investigate to prevent Gemma is accused of his murder. Rory must also understand her feelings towards the police officer Justin.
I have read a few months ago another book by this author and I could not wait to read more: in every book transpires her love of animals and her great ability to write exciting mystery. Can not wait for her next book!
It 's a fun and entertaining mystery that I enjoyed from beginning to end.

If you love animals, superstition and cozy mystery this book is absolutely a must read.
