Title: Mia and the Bad Boy
Author: Lisa Burstein
Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary Romance
Publication: May 19th, 2015
This good girl’s about to meet her match…
Ryder Brooks is living the dream—he’s famous, loved by millions of girls, and miserable. All he really wants is to write his own music, not Seconds to Juliet’s sugary sweet pop. In order to do that, though, the “bad boy” of the band will have to play by the rules. And that includes behaving with his new—and super cute—über-good-girl tutor.
Mia Reyes is in fangirl heaven. Tutoring her favorite member of her favorite band? It’s a dream come true…until it turns into a complete nightmare. Ryder is nothing like she thought. He’s crude, arrogant, and pretty much a total jerk. And the worst part? She’s roped into pretending to be his girlfriend so that no one finds out he’s being tutored. Fake kisses, plenty of PDA, and even sharing his hotel room…
But sometimes even the baddest of bad boys needs a little redemption.
My Review
It 's a novel nice, funny, romantic at the right point: the classic love story of a good girl and a bad guy.
Ryder is the leader of the band Second to Juliet hates the music that produces but hopes soon to be able to fulfill his dream and make the music he likes most. But to achieve his objective must take the diploma. His manager chooses to assume Mia, a talented girl in school, can be his tutor and help him study. For the girl is an unique opportunity, that can change her life: with this money she can pay for college. In addition she can be close to her favorite star. Ryder doesn't want to reveal his secret and forced her to pretend to be his girlfriend, so as not to arouse suspicion on a long time that they have to go together. Although they are two people from such different personalities the chemistry between them is very strong. Will Mia be able to change him and bring out his sweet side?
Mia is a good girl, shy but can be determined when needed. Her parents did not have never given her so much freedom, she is never completely out of her shell. Ryder is a grumpy guy, he grew up without a family, with an alcoholic mother but does not want to tell anyone. He wants to appear tough, but is actually a good guy and even sweet
This book is the second in the Backstage Series but can be read as a standalone, I have not read the previous and had no difficulty
It 's a well-written novel, engaging, the dialogue between the various characters are fun and the final is really cute
I recommend it to those who love YA and romance.
