Review & Giveaway: Murder, Mayhem & Bliss by Loulou Harrington

The ‘reveal’ scene of this whodunit is very slick, and it was enjoyable to see the people who thought they would get away with greed and murder brought to justice.
~Back Porchervations
The mystery is well written and takes plenty of twists and turns.
~Queen of All She Reads
I love books that make you laugh out loud and this humorous whodunit does just that.

Synopsis:
Nothing much happens in Myrtle Grove, Oklahoma. So when prominent businessman Harry Kerr is discovered face down in his pool shortly after dawn, the breakfast crowd in Jesse Camden’s tea room is buzzing. Recognizing the name, Jesse hurries to her friend Vivian Windsor, Myrtle Grove’s resident oil heiress and great-aunt to Bliss Kerr, widow of the deceased and soon-to-be prime suspect in his suspicious death.
Clearing Bliss and finding the real murderer isn’t what Jesse meant when she offered her assistance. And wrangling an eager band of helpers while chasing a tangle of leads across the countryside, tripping over deputies and evidence along the way, isn’t her first choice for her weekend. But here she is, and here she will be, hearing secrets no one should know, and discovering betrayals no one could live with, until Jesse finds her way through the maze of deceit to uncover the real killer.

My Review:
A Myrtle Grove, a quiet little town in Oklahoma,is found a dead man in the swimming pool of his villa. The deceased is Harold Kerr, managed a successful dealership and was married to Bliss Windsor, had no children, and ultimately their marriage was in crisis. The man was killed and his wife does not have an alibi and is therefore the main suspect. But Bliss's aunt, Vivian,  doesn't believe that her niece was capable of a crime and asks for help to a friend, Jesse Camden. The woman will do anything to help her friend. Investigating discover mysteries, secrets, betrayals that she never imagined that her city could hide. Myrtle Grove, perhaps, not so quiet.
Jesse is an exciting woman lives with her mother in a Victorian house and the first floor have opened a tea room and an antique shop looking to manage together. They have a beautiful relationship. Vivian is a strong and intelligent woman who in life had to endure the greatest pain, the loss of her son (who was Jesse's boyfriend). She poured all her affection on Jesse and nephew Bliss, she is like a daughter to her. Joe Tyler is a crabby sheriff  and are very funny encounters between him and Jesse.
It 's the first book in the series "Myrtle Grove Garden Club Mystery" and I look forward to reading the other and see how evolve the relationships between the various characters
It 's a fun read and sometimes very humorous, with realistic and well developed characters, the plot is compelling and compelling. To read for those who love the cozy mysteries

  2. Thank you so much for having me here today. I love your review. The relationship between Jesse and her mother Sophia is very special to me and I really like your comment on that, as well as Jesse's relationship with Vivian. I was lucky to visit Italy this summer for a wedding in Rapello. Then I went to Pisa, Rome and Florence before heading home. I hope to return for a longer trip some day. Thank you for welcoming me to your blog site.
