Synopsis
Yogi Kate must clear her name of murder in this charming yoga mystery
When Kate Davidson gets an offer to teach yoga classes to wedding guests at the Elysian Springs resort, she jumps at the opportunity, even though it means being forced to endure the wedding ceremony of the center’s two caretakers.
Avoiding the M-word turns out to be the least of Kate’s problems when a wedding guest is found floating face-down in the resort’s hot tub, shortly after a loud, public (and somewhat embarrassing) fight with Kate. The police pick Kate as their number-one suspect, so she’s forced to team up with boyfriend Michael, best friend Rene, and German shepherd sidekick Bella to find the real killer. But they’ll have to solve the murder before the police arrest Kate, or her next gig may last a lifetime–behind bars.
My review:

Kate is a teacher of yoga and was invited to teach a course for a weekend at the resort Elysian Springs. She decides to go with her boyfriend Michael and her dog Bella and also invites her friend Rene with her husband. During the weekend the owners get married: in fact the course is for the wedding guests. But the stepmother Monica is found murdered. Kate had quarreled several times with her and is immediately suspected. She will have to investigate with her boyfriend and friends to be able to find the real culprit. Meanwhile must try to avoid that Michael make her a marriage proposal because she is not yet ready to engage and to understand what problem plaguing her friend Rene.
Kate is a really singular character: gets nervous very easily,  seems anything but a yoga teacher. But she's ready for anything to defend animals and attack those who mistreat them. It's why her temperament that is likely to end up in jail on charges of murder. Bella is a sweet dog but a little undisciplined and with stomach problems. The victim is a character truly hateful: there are many who might have killed her.
I have never attended a yoga class but the author is good at providing the essential elements to understand the philosophy and the various movements. Although it is the second book in a series may well be read as a stand alone
It 's a funny and compelling story, with amazing and a bit crazy characters. The mystery and the plot are well developed and intriguing: only at the end you can understand the truth. The author also is good at raising awareness about a very important issue: respect for nature and, in particular, for animals
If you love dogs and cozy mysteries is absolutely a book to read
Received a copy from the Midnight Ink through NetGalley in exchange for an honest  review.
