August Moon
Release Date: May 2014
Summary from Goodreads:
What do you do when the
one who broke your heart, is the only one who can fix it?
There is nothing in this world stronger than the powerful emotion of being in love. Except, maybe the paralyzing pain of a broken heart.
Moving to a small unfamiliar beach town in the summer before her senior year of high school is really going to suck. Raven, a black haired beauty, from a well- off family was certain about that. Miserable in her circumstance’s, nothing could convince her otherwise, until Raven meets Quinn, a local with a love for surfing and a bad reputation to go with it. Despite the very different worlds they live in, their desire for each other is undeniable. Raven’s fears and misery start to vanish as she and Quinn fall deeper and deeper into each other.
But things change drastically when Raven is unknowingly used as a pawn, in a turn of disastrous events, caused by Quinn’s older brother.
The events that follow could silence Raven’s heart for eternity and completely destroy what’s left of Quinn’s soul.
August Moon is a captivating story of young love. Bringing two unlikely hearts together. Only to be shattered by one tortuous decision. Putting these star-crossed lovers on course for the ultimate challenge of forgiveness.

Raven moved from Brooklyn in a small seaside town during her senior year of high school . She's terrified at the thought of facing a new school, finding herself without friends. Luckily her cousin Jo, of which she is a close friend, lives there. The two cousins go together to the sea to meet Jo's friends. Raven knows the most beautiful lifeguard of the world, Quinn, and immediately falls in love with him. The guy is very taken by her . The two are very different. Raven has Italian origins, is very rich, and has a happy and united family while Quinn is the son of a firefighter and a nurse, has a brother in jail and another is taking the wrong path . But they believe that their love is strong enough to overcome their differences.
I loved Quinn, he's really a good guy. He tries to help the mother to juggle a very demanding job and the care of children and tries to save his brother Declan and to protect him makes a huge sacrifice. He's a really special guy , very much in love, brave, fond of his family .... is the guy who all would like to have and the ideal son .
It 's a very sweet and romantic novel , a story of teenage love: it talks about love at first sight , sea , family, friendship , jealousy...It's written in simple language, sliding and addictive: once you start you can not leave him. I'm looking forward to read the second .
A must read for anyone who loves young adult novels
