"I was born in a small town in Kentucky. My family began poor, but worked their way to owning a restaurant. My mother was one of the best cooks I have ever known, and she instilled in all her children the value of hard work, and education.
Taking after my mother, I've always love to cook, and became pretty good if I do say so myself. I love to experiment and my unfortunate family has suffered through many. They now have learned to steer clear of those dishes. I absolutely love the holidays and my family puts up with my zany decorations.
For now, my days are spent writing, writing, and writing. I have two children who both graduated this year from college. My daughter does my book covers, and my son just tries not to blush when someone asks him about my books.
Currently I am writing five series of books- The Last Riders, The VIP Room, Predators MC, Biker Bitches, and The Dark Souls.
All my books are written for one purpose- the enjoyment others find in them, and the expectations of my fans that inspire me to give it my best.”

Review & Giveaway: King Arthur’s Sister in Washington’s Court by Kim Iverson Headlee

King Arthur’s Sister in Washington’s Court
by Kim Iverson Headlee

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
Morgan le Fay, 6th-century Queen of Gore and the only major character not killed off by Mark Twain in A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court, vows revenge upon the Yankee Hank Morgan. She casts a spell to take her to 1879 Connecticut so she may waylay Sir Boss before he can travel back in time to destroy her world. But the spell misses by 300 miles and 200 years, landing her in the Washington, D.C., of 2079, replete with flying limousines, hovering office buildings, virtual-reality television, and sundry other technological marvels.
Whatever is a time-displaced queen of magic and minions to do? Why, rebuild her kingdom, of course—two kingdoms, in fact: as Campaign Boss for the reelection of American President Malory Beckham Hinton, and as owner of the London Knights world-champion baseball franchise.
Written as though by the old master himself, King Arthur’s Sister in Washington’s Court by Mark Twain as channeled by Kim Iverson Headlee offers laughs, love, and a candid look at American society, popular culture, politics, baseball...and the human heart.
My Review:
I had so much fun reading this novel: I love the story of King Arthur and all of his legends. I was also very curious to see the world as it appeared in 2079: spectacular. It 's an interesting story, very funny, full of action, plot twists, humor and even a little romance.
Morgan Le Faye must absolutely stop Mark Twain  before he ruined her world publishing his book but has missed to set the time machine and found herself in an even more distant future. A queen of the fifth century is suddenly living in 2079. But the queen is not discouraged, she runs an election campaign, faces a problem about love story and even buy a baseball team. In the meantime,she  looks for the way to be able to return to her world in order to save her brother.
I love the novels of Mark Twain but I never read "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court". Now I'm looking forward to find it and read it. The illustrations are very beautiful, make this book even more amazing.
It's well-written, with a fast paced and addictive, a total page-turner. The plot is very well developed, the characters are lovable, a book really funny and enjoyable. I can not wait to read more of this author.
I recommend it to those who love Arthurian world and the stories with incredible time travel.
EXCERPT:
(from Chapter II: King Henry’s Court)
“Ah, Connecticut. Nay, fair Queen Morgan, that land lies many leagues to the north.” After nodding northward, King Henry spread his arms wide. “I bid thee well come to Crownsville, and I further bid thee and thy comely companion”—King Henry smiled at Lady Jane—“to join us at the feast anon.”
Queen Anne cast her liege husband a disconcerted glance but glided forward, smiling and extending both her hands toward me, which I did grasp warmly; and she said: “Aye, Queen Morgan, thou art ever well come to feast with us on this most glorious of Saturdays, the twenty-third day of September in the year of Our Lord fifteen thirty-four.”
If I could lay head to heel the bodies of every loser of every tournament in every realm since the birth of Our Lord, even should such a line compass the entire kingdom, ’twould not come nigh unto compassing my anguish upon hearing that my enchantment had missed its mark by more than three full centuries.
I concealed my dismay as I accepted the royal invitation.
AUTHOR Bio and Links:
Kim Headlee lives on a farm in southwestern Virginia with her family, cats, goats, Great Pyrenees goat guards, and assorted wildlife. People and creatures come and go, but the cave and the 250-year-old house ruins—the latter having been occupied as recently as the mid-twentieth century—seem to be sticking around for a while yet.
Kim is a Seattle native and a direct descendent of twentieth-century Russian nobility. Her grandmother was a childhood friend of the doomed Grand Duchess Anastasia, and the romantic yet tragic story of how Lydia escaped Communist Russia with the aid of her American husband will most certainly one day fuel one of Kim’s novels. Another novel in the queue will involve her husband’s ancestor, the seventh-century proto-Viking king of the Swedish colony in Russia.
For the time being, however, Kim has plenty of work to do in creating her projected 8-book Arthurian series, The Dragon’s Dove Chronicles, and other novels under her imprint, Pendragon Cove Press. She has been a published novelist since 1999, beginning with the original edition of Dawnflight (Sonnet Books, Simon & Schuster, ISBN 0671020412).
THE PAST
Laird Nioclas MacWilliam just wants peace for his clan. The time for him to marry has come, and after waiting years for his ally to present their daughter, he’s agreed to marry another. But on the eve of his nuptials, a daring rescue brings his missing betrothed right into his arms.
And she does not want to be there.
THE FUTURE
Brianagh has to return to the future. Nioclas has to marry. He offers a solution for the both of them: She marries him and stays for three months, and they work together to convince his clan they are a love match. In return, he vows to safely return her home. But as the days turn to weeks, they both begin to see what a happily-ever-after could be. And when the time comes, does Brianagh return to the life she’s built, or does she remain in the past for a chance at true love?
My Review
It 's a compelling novel, funny, sentimental with a touch of humor and suspense, set in the beautiful medieval Ireland and with awesome characters.
Brianagh believes in true love only thinks that is not predicted for her. She meets her ideal man every night in her dreams. She accepts the marriage proposal of her old boyfriend, even though she knows that he is not the right one. Before the wedding,  allows herself a little vacation in her homeland, Ireland and suddenly finds herself living in medieval age and betrothed to the man she meets in her dreams. He is Nioclas, Laird of a clan, wants to marry her to bring peace to his country. But she does not want to be there and does not want to marry him. They make a pact: he needs marriage to appease his clan, if she agrees to marry him and stay with him until three months, he will help her to come home safe and sound. She discovers that married life is wonderful with Nioclas,she can stay there forever?
Brianagh is a really strong and determined character, I loved every moment spent with her. Nioclas is really the ideal guy: is brave, loyal, faithful, charming. Together they form a amazing couple, attraction and chemistry between them is really explosive. I like so much the stories with time travel, this one is really funny: to get used to the medieval life is not really simple.
It 's a romantic and passionate story but without scenes too much hot. There are several twists that glue the reader to the pages to see what will happen to our characters.
This book is so well written and well structured, studied in detail that does not seem to a debut writer. Great start to this series, I look forward to reading the second book.
If you love time travel novels, the Middle Ages, Ireland and the romance is the perfect book for you.
Victoria James
Releasing Nov 9th, 2015
Entangled: Bliss
She’s falling for the one man who could destroy everything…
Alex McAllister always dreamed of a life filled with the laughter and love of a family, but being abandoned at a young age left her wary of letting anyone in. Now that she’s settled in Still Harbor, Alex struggles between keeping her distance and the magnetic pull of the handsome stranger who claims he’s the biological father of her adopted daughter.
Hayden Brooks never wanted to be a father. Long hours spent building his family’s real estate empire suits him just fine. But when he discovers an ex put the baby he unknowingly fathered up for adoption, his world crumbles. He tracks the child to Still Harbor with the intention of bringing her home—and comes face to face with his daughter’s stunning adoptive mother.
The paternity test is in. And Hayden’s about to make the most shocking decision of his life, just in time for Christmas…
My Review
A few months ago I have read  "Falling for the PI," the first book in this series, I liked it so much that I could not wait to read this second episode. Three orphaned girls have grown together as sisters. Now they live in the same house and  each of them has adopted a beautiful little girl. Each book in this series has as protagonist one of these sisters.
Hayden Brooks is rich, powerful and very famous. He receives a strange visit of an supposed former lover: they had a night of passion and she became pregnant. She didn't even know his name, she has managed to track him down after seeing his picture in a newspaper. She gave her daughter up for adoption, doesn't know what happened to her, the only thing she is interested in is blackmail Hayden. He wants to find his child, if she is really her daughter, wants to raise her and love her. His daughter is Cassie and has been adopted by Alex McAllister: she loves her a lot and has managed to make her grow peaceful and happy. When she meets Hayden is terrified at the thought of losing her but she wants only the best for her. What will be best for Cassie?
It 's a short story but well developed, touching, sweet. The characters are very believable and engaging. Alex is a person I would like to know: is loving, generous, is wonderful her relationship with her daughter. She knows what it's like not to have a family and  she does not want that Cassie feel the same sensation. Cassie is an adorable little girl, Hayden is very charming but sometimes is too arrogant.
Although it is the second book in the series you can be easily read as a stand alone. I hope to read soon the third book.
I have no hesitation in recommending it highly.
KISSING HER CRUSH
Sugar City #2
Ophelia London
Releasing Nov 9th, 2015
Entangled: Bliss
He’s sweet trouble...
Natalie Holden wants three things: To be the best chocolate chemist in Hershey, Pennsylvania, to prove her chocolate recipe can help teenage depression, and to get over gorgeous Luke Elliott, the guy she’s had a crush on since birth. Unfortunately, he’s the microbiologist set to debunk her chocolate study. And, of course, he looks more delicious than ever!
Luke Elliott is still bitter over his divorce. Work is his passion now, and landing a huge promotion is just what he needs. What he doesn’t need is a crackpot trying to prove that chocolate cures depression. The last thing he expects is for the crackpot to be Natalie Holden—his “what if” girl from high school—or that she’d still tempt the hell out of him.
They may not see eye-to-eye on her project, but they can’t deny the explosive chemistry that keeps pulling them together. Even when it risks their jobs and the very different futures they both want…
My review
The protagonist of this story is chocolate: it is present everywhere, is described so beautifully that it is better to  read it  without have some chocolate bars at home, may disappear in a second ....
Natalie Holden wants to prove that chocolate can help fight teenage depression. This issue is very close to her heart because her brother has suffered a lot. She doesn't know, however, that to judge whether her research is really good to get a loan, is the guy that she is always in love, Luke Elliott. He considers her his "what if" girl but she doesn't know it. He recently divorced and wants to devote himself to his work. But the attraction they feel for each other is really strong, hard to resist. They will have to choose between their career or give them a second chance at love.
It 's a sweet and romantic story, light and easy to read. The small skirmishes between the two protagonists are great funny. All the characters are warm and lovable, especially the family of Luke. I also really like the set of this novel, Hershey, Pennsylvania.
I recommend it to those who love sweet and clean stories.
Victoria James is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance.
Victoria always knew she wanted to be a writer and in grade five, she penned her first story, bound it (with staples and a cardboard cover) and did all the illustrations herself. Luckily, this book will never see the light of day again.
In high school she fell in love with historical romance and then contemporary romance. After graduating University with an English Literature degree, Victoria pursued a degree in Interior Design and then opened her own business. After her first child, Victoria knew it was time to fulfill her dream of writing romantic fiction.
Victoria is a hopeless romantic who is living her dream, penning happily-ever-after's for her characters in between managing kids and the family business. Writing on a laptop in the middle of the country in a rambling old Victorian house would be ideal, but she's quite content living in suburbia with her husband, their two young children, and very bad cat.
My Review
I love Ireland: its wonderful landscapes, its culture, its traditions, its legends. As soon as I read the plot of this book I could not lose it. It 's so amazing as its cover. I loved it from start to finish and I have read it in one day, I could not put it down. The author is very good at capturing the reader and keep him glued to the pages, knows how to create  atmosphere so magical and full of suspense that you do not want anything but keep reading.
When she was a teenager, Megara had a bad accident and had to give up her dream of becoming a dancer. But this moment will mark her life forever because she saw a man in her room. He's so nice and has the sensation that he is her soul mate. She believes, however, that is just a hallucination caused by medicines. Her life continues and is getting married even though she knows that he is not the right man for her. She makes another terrible car accident with her husband and ends up in coma. Actually she makes a journey through time and finds herself living in 1800:  she has always lived in luxury and surrounded by waiters is having to work hard. But here she meets again the man who that day had come into her room. But who is he really? Can she stay and live there forever?
The plot is really original, well-developed, is one of those books so well-written and engaging  you would like to never end.
This book is the first chance I have had to read anything by Delia Colvin. Certainly most it will not be my last.
If you love Ireland and time travel novels is one to add to your list. It is the ideal  reading for romantics: a wonderful love story timeless.
"A fanciful romance with lots of twists and turns, and a magical setting!"
Teaser Tuesday: I'll Be There by Samantha Chase
I'LL BE THERE
Montgomery Brother's #6
Samantha Chase
Releasing Dec 1st, 2015
Sourcebooks Casablanca
Book #6 in New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Samantha Chase's popular Montgomery series
This Montgomery Has a Head for Business
Working for Zach Montgomery is challenging on many levels-coming from a wealthy and powerful family, he lives by his own rules and doesn't answer to anyone. But Gabriella Martine has no intention of backing down. She's used to handling stubborn men, and it doesn't hurt that Zach is smart, charismatic...and gorgeous.
And a Heart for Adventure
Zach's perfect world is turned upside down when a climbing accident leaves him broken, angry, and maddeningly dependent. In his slow quest for recovery, Gabriella is always there to help...but as Zach comes to see his beautiful assistant in a new light, he is forced to re-evaluate what it really means to be a man worthy of Gabriella's love.
Pre-Order Today
Reaching across the table, Zach took one of Gabriella’s hands in his and just marveled at how soft it was. He always wondered what her skin felt like and now that he knew, he wanted to feel more. “Don’t leave me. Please.”
Her blue eyes filled with tears and she used her free hand to quickly wipe them away before they fell and then studied their hands on the table. “Zach,” she said softly, “we’ve been over this.”
“I know, I know,” he replied just as softly. “I need another chance, Gabriella. I need a chance to make things right.” He looked up, his gaze meeting hers. “I need you.”
Deciding to be bold, he turned her hand over and twined their fingers together and gently squeezed. He was surprised she didn’t pull away and thought maybe—just maybe—they were making progress. “I know I can’t erase the things I’ve said and done, but if you’ll give me one more chance, Gabs, I promise not to screw up. If I do anything to upset you, you can walk away. Hell, you can slap me in the face, kick me in the shin or throw something heavy at me and I’ll take it. I just…I can’t do this without you.”
Her eyes never left their joined hands.
“I don’t want to do this without you,” he said quietly.
“I’m afraid to…believe you.” He barely heard her words, they were uttered so softly.
Everything inside of him clenched with pain. His always confident, ever-efficient assistant was now distrusting and uncertain—because of him. “I don’t know what to say to make you believe me. Tell me. Tell me what I need to do. Anything. Anything you need from me to gain your confidence, and I’ll do it.”
She looked up at him. “It’s not that easy. Every day I walked into the office, I gave you another chance. Every time you berated me or made me feel like I screwed up and I came back, I gave you another chance. From my standpoint, you’ve had two years’ worth of second chances. I think I’ve been more than generous.”
His other hand reached out to cup her hand in both of his. “I know you have and you have no idea how much I appreciated it.” She looked at him with disbelief. “It’s true! I know I never said it but every morning you were there, I was thankful. Every time you walked into my office, I was thankful. Please. I’m begging here, Gabs.”
New York Times and USA Today Bestseller/contemporary romance writer Samantha Chase released her debut novel, Jordan's Return, in November 2011. Although she waited until she was in her 40's to publish for the first time, writing has been a lifelong passion. Her motivation to take that step was her students: teaching creative writing to elementary age students all the way up through high school and encouraging those students to follow their writing dreams gave Samantha the confidence to take that step as well.
When she's not working on a new story, she spends her time reading contemporary romances, playing way too many games of Scrabble or Solitaire on Facebook and spending time with her husband of 25 years and their two sons in North Carolina.
